Ensuring our educators are prepared is core to our mission and every educator who joins the AFCC network participates in our proprietary Benchmark Training program. This program is unique in that it exceeds state requirements to have a family childcare business.
Our trainings are held on weekends or in the evenings to accommodate their professional and personal obligations with minimal conflict. Some of the topics covered during the 75-hour training include: licensing, interviewing parents, building relationships with parents, child growth and development, recordkeeping, business best practices, financial literacy and curriculum design.
In addition to Benchmark Training, educators participate in four professional development days. All childcare programs are closed on professional development days to allow educators the opportunity to participate. Additionally, Acre Family also offers first aid/CPR classes as needed to enable educators to stay up to date on other requirements.
