We are hiring for a Bilingual (English/Spanish) Child Care Specialist full-time

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Co-Executive Director, the Child Care Specialist is a full-time position (40 hours per week) responsible for serving as the primary contact between Acre Family Child Care staff and Educators and provides ongoing support to ensure the safety of all children in care.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Conduct home visits to all assigned Educators
  • Stay current about state rules and regulations pertaining to family childcare
  • Ensure programs are compliant with state regulations
  • Support Educators, parents, and staff in problem solving, and document accordingly
  • When necessary, refer Educators to additional support services
  • Attend and assist with Educator meetings
  • Support training opportunities for Educators, both individually and in group meetings
  • Support Training Coordinator by providing input into the long-term training needs of staff, parents, and incoming Educators
  • Attend local trainings relevant to work with Educators
  • Responsible to report any suspected abuse or neglect (Mandated Reporter)
  • Serve as liaison between office and state licensors
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Associate’s Degree required.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to balance multiple activities, and detail oriented are a must
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Available for occasional evening and weekend hours
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
  • Valid driver’s license and access to vehicle
  • Must pass Department of Early Education and Care Background Record Check
