Acre Family Child Care is one of 140 local nonprofits to receive grants through the Cummings Foundation’s $25 Million Grant Program. The Lowell-based organization was chosen from a total of 580 applicants during a competitive review process supported by 90 Foundation volunteers. Acre Family will receive $350,000 over 10 years.
Acre Family Child Care, founded in 1988, provides opportunities for women to achieve economic independence by operating high-quality child care businesses in their homes. Today, Acre Family Child Care directly supports 70+ woman-owned small businesses throughout the city of Lowell who provide care to 450+ children daily.
